Cynthia is a seasoned, independent COO who has a deep track record executing infrastructural strategies for large financial service companies. An expert on the ecosystem of Wall Street, her knowledge allows Cynthia to facilitate growth, increase margins and streamline operations.
Cynthia's Expertise
Cynthia Meyn is an independent Special Advisor to Reverence Capital Partners, a private equity firm that acquires financial services and financial technology companies. In this capacity, she has led the budget, infrastructure, and transformational aspects of MA execution of stand-ups, carve-outs and integrations of large insurance carriers, investment management firms, and broker dealers. She previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Venerable Holdings (2018-2020), as the executive vice president and head of operations globally at PIMCO (2008-2017), and as the managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (2006-2008). Prior to those roles, Cynthia held executive roles in technology at Alliance Bernstein, Cantor Fitzgerald (CTO) and Mizuho Capital (CTO, CRO). She holds a BA from Smith College, an MBA from Duke University, and has 37 years of experience.
Cynthia is also an independent Board of Directors member, currently serving on industry advisory and philanthropic boards. She serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Smith College, the Board of Directors of the Duke Management Company (DUMAC), and the public Board of Directors of Zero Hash. She also volunteers as an appointed industry member of the Board of Governors of CUSIP. In early 2017, she completed a five-year term serving on the Board of Directors of the DTCC, and a six-year term serving on the Board of Managers of Omgeo.
Cynthia has published two articles in The Actuary covering the practical aspects of Libor Cessation and personal reflections on courage in leadership. In 2014, Cynthia was awarded Operations Businessperson of the Year by FT News. She has also co-authored two case studies for Harvard Business School related to the algorithm behind the movie-recommendation systems of Netflix and the related IP concerns.

Omgeo, now known as DTCC ITP, was established in 2001 as a financial services global joint venture between DTCC and Thomson Reuters. Omgeo specialized in post-trade operations. DTCC acquired 100% of Omgeo in October of 2013. Omgeo provided settlement solutions to the global post-trade processing ecosystem including Alert, CTM and Oasys, and TradeSuite.
Cynthia completed a two-year term, which concluded with the acquisition of Omgeo by DTCC. She served on the Compensation Committee and Products Committee.

Cynthia graduated from Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 2010. She has served on the Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee since 2018, which she has chaired since December of 2023.

Cynthia graduated from Smith College in 1986, is co-chair of the Audit & Risk Committee, and serves on the Operations & Resources Committee.

AARC is a group convened by the Federal Reserve Board of New York with a goal of ensuring a successful transition away from U.S. dollar LIBOR to SOFR, its recommended alternative. The AARC is comprised of private-market participants. Cynthia co-chaired the sub-committee that focused on industry-wide cessation of the use of LIBOR with a managed change towards SOFR, focusing on gathering together sell-side, buy-side and vendors to work through operational aspects of the world-wide conversion across such matters as buy-side readiness for asset managers and owners, new issuance market data dissemination, offering memorandum language, conversion protocols for fallback language on older vintage debt, corporate action market data vendor readiness, and derivative valuation and coupon processing.
